Dr. Bennett joined our team of doctors in May, 2018. Born in New York City, he was raised in Indiana and New Hampshire followed by attending college in Maine and Boston. He lived in California prior to attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. During his senior year in veterinary school, he did his clinical rotations at Washington State University before graduating in 2007.
A family trip to the Serengeti as a child sparked Dr. Bennett’s interest in working with animals, along with with a fascination of the medical and scientific aspect and a desire to help patients. Dr. Bennett has worked in the veterinary field for over 10 years. Before becoming a veterinarian he worked as a kennel assistant and a veterinary technician. In addition to working in a general veterinary practice, he has also worked as a zoo veterinarian. He really enjoys the process of working up medical/surgical cases to reach a diagnosis and then helping patients recover from whatever ails them. Related to this, he also appreciates working with a group of people who share these goals.
In his time away from work, you might find him surfing, biking, hiking, traveling, woodworking and blowing glass. He and his wife were recently married and they have a Pomeranian named “Layla,” and “Patches,” a domestic short hair cat.
